*Medix is currently hiring for a few roles as a Community Health Worker in the Chicagoland Area*

Job Description:

We are hiring for multiple roles focused on advancing sexual health and HIV prevention. These positions involve community outreach, HIV/STI testing and counseling, and support for individuals interested in or currently using PrEP. Ideal candidates are committed to public health, health equity, and serving diverse, high-risk populations through education, prevention, and access to care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide HIV/STI counseling, testing, and risk-reduction education in both clinical and community settings

• Support clients through PrEP education, assessment, enrollment, and adherence follow-up

• Conduct outreach and promote sexual health services to priority populations

• Maintain accurate documentation in electronic health records and program databases

• Coordinate referrals and help clients access medical care, insurance, and support services

• Participate in training, data collection, and quality improvement efforts

• Supervise, mentor, or support peer educators and health outreach staff (for coordinator-level roles)

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in public health, social work, health education, or a related field preferred

• 1-3 years of experience in HIV/STI prevention, PrEP navigation, sexual health education, or community outreach

• Experience providing HIV/STI counseling, testing, and/or health education in clinical or community settings preferred

• Strong knowledge of HIV, STIs, PrEP, and harm reduction practices

• Ability to work with diverse populations, including LGBTQ+ communities, youth, and communities disproportionately impacted by HIV

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; bilingual (Spanish-English) a plus

• Comfort working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

• Proficient in using electronic health records and basic data entry tools

• Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends as needed

• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred for outreach-based roles

Additional Details:

• Location: Hiring for multiple locations in the Chicagoland area such as - Blue Island (60406), Robbins (60472), Ford Heights (60411), Chicago (60615)
• Pay: $40,000-$52,000 Annual Salary (Based on Background and years of experience)
• Schedule/Hours: Monday-Friday; Onsite 5 days a week; Normal Business Hours
• Employment: Contract to Hire - ~6 month (1,040 Hours) contracted probationary period into direct hire / permanent position

• 401k ( eligible on the first 401k open enrollment date following 6 consecutive months on assignment. 401k Open Enrollment dates are 1/1, 4/1, 7/1, and 10/1)
