Summary

The VA North Texas Health Care System in Dallas, Texas, is recruiting for a Nuclear Medicine Physician capable of providing advanced molecular imaging, nuclear cardiology, and theranostics clinical care.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet the basic and any additional requirements listed in the job announcement. Pending training or license completion applicants may be referred and tentatively selected but cannot be hired until all requirements are met. Current VA-employed physicians who met previous qualification standards are deemed to meet the basic requirements.

Basic Requirements:

• U.S. Citizenship; non-citizens only when qualified citizens are unavailable
• Degree of MD or equivalent from an approved school
• Current unrestricted medical license in the U.S.
• Completed residency training approved by VA, leading to eligibility for board certification; approved residencies include ACGME, AOA, or equivalent non-US programs with five years of verified US practice
• Residents in ACGME/AOA programs eligible as Physician Resident Providers (PRPs), who must be fully licensed and appointed on an intermittent or fee basis
• Proficiency in spoken and written English
• Physical requirements include moderate lifting, carrying, pushing, reaching, use of fingers, walking, standing, kneeling, bending, and visual and auditory acuity

Duties

The Nuclear Medicine Physician will provide services at VA North Texas Health Care System, including Dallas VA Medical Center and Fort Worth Outpatient Clinic. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Performing a wide range of nuclear medicine procedures, including Bone Scan, Gallium, Indium, Iodine imaging, and more
• Non-routine and molecular imaging procedures, including PET, SPECT/CT, and others
• Nuclear medicine therapy, including treatment of hyperthyroidism, thyroid cancer, and neuroendocrine tumors
• Nuclear cardiology procedures such as stress testing, myocardial perfusion imaging, and related analyses
