Nuclear Medicine Physician

We are seeking an Nuclear Medicine Physician for The Department of Veterans Affairs to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, supervising nuclear medicine technologists, and ensuring high-quality patient care.

Location : Department of Veterans Affairs, Murfreesboro, TN

Job Type : Full-Time

Contract Duration : April 1, 2025 - March 31, 2026 (with possible extension up to six months)

Overview :

Key Responsibilities :

  • Perform diagnostic procedures including PET scans, SPECT scans, and various radioisotope therapies.
  • Supervise nuclear medicine technologists in clinical settings.
  • Handle and oversee the administration of radiopharmaceuticals such as Pluvicto and I131.
  • Conduct interventional procedures including CT-guided biopsies, drainage tube placements, and angio-guided procedures.
  • Collaborate with technologists, nursing staff, and physician assistants to provide comprehensive patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all procedures and patient interactions.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.

Qualifications :

  • Board certification in Nuclear Medicine.
  • Valid medical license and DEA certification.
  • Strong background in nuclear medicine procedures and radiopharmaceuticals.
  • Excellent clinical supervision skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality patient care.

Preferred Experience :

  • Experience with GE Optima SPECT/CT and GE Discovery PET/CT equipment.
  • Familiarity with interventional radiology procedures.
  • Previous experience in a VA or similar healthcare setting.

Working Hours :

  • Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
  • Full-time equivalent of 2080 hours per year.

Salary is commensurate with experience.
