Implementation Specialist

📍 Onsite 5 days a week – New York City (Flatiron District)

💼 Full-Time | $140K–$160K + Bonus + Equity

✈️ Travel up to 50%

HVAC industry experience is required.

We’re looking for someone who can bridge technical expertise with customer-facing leadership to build and scale implementation and onboarding at a high-growth startup.

Shields Group Search is partnering with a venture-backed startup transforming a $250B legacy industry through AI-native software. In just five months, the company has launched its first product, 10x’d revenue, and grown usage 15% week-over-week. With strong early traction and backing from top-tier investors, they’re now hiring an Implementation Specialist to lead customer onboarding, training, and adoption as they scale.

Our client is building the next-generation, AI-native operating system for suppliers and contractors in a legacy B2B industry. Their first product is live and scaling quickly, and they’re focused on maintaining the exceptional customer experience that’s fueled their growth. You’ll work directly with the founders to build the systems and playbooks that define the company’s customer success motion. This is your chance to get in early and help transform an industry still largely untouched by modern tools.

What You’ll Do

  • Own In-Person Onboardings: Run kickoff sessions, demos, and hands-on trainings with new customers.
  • Build Repeatable Processes: Create playbooks, materials, metrics, and tracking systems to scale onboarding.
  • Be the Voice of the Customer: Spend time on-site (up to 50% travel), gather real-time feedback, and feed insights straight to the founders.
  • Troubleshoot in Real Time: Identify and clear adoption blockers to keep implementations on track and customers engaged.

Here’s what one day could look like:

  • Run an in-person onboarding session for a new contractor team
  • Deliver a demo and training to field reps on-site
  • Collect product feedback during customer visits and share insights directly with the founders
  • Update onboarding documentation and improve training materials
  • Troubleshoot a workflow issue with a customer in real time to keep adoption on track

Who You Are

  • 4+ years in:
  • • Estimating, sales, or project management at an HVAC manufacturer’s rep or mechanical contractor
  • • Engineering at an MEP firm
  • Familiarity with the HVAC industry (required)
  • Project-management chops—you thrive building processes from scratch and hitting deadlines
  • Strong communication skills—you simplify technical concepts for any audience
  • Willingness to travel frequently (up to 50% of each month)

Bonus Points For:

  • Experience creating training content (videos, docs, workshops)
  • Proven track record leading in-person rollouts and trainings
