Sales Representative - Automotive, Parts, and Outdoor Power Equipment Position Summary We are seeking a driven and knowledgeable
Sales Representative in Automotive, Parts, and Outdoor Power Equipment. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about outdoor machinery, understands the needs of residential and commercial customers, and excels at turning product knowledge into trusted customer solutions.
As a key member of our sales force, you'll be responsible for growing revenue, expanding customer relationships, and helping clients choose the right equipment for their landscaping, farming, or grounds maintenance needs.
Key Responsibilities - Sell and promote a full range of outdoor power equipment (e.g., mowers, chainsaws, trimmers, blowers, generators, utility vehicles, etc.) to residential, commercial, and municipal clients.
- Understand and communicate the features and benefits of different equipment lines, brands, and attachments.
- Guide customers through product selection, financing, accessories, and service options .
- Maintain expert-level knowledge of all models, specs, warranties, and safety protocols.
- Provide quotes, close sales, and process transactions efficiently and accurately.
- Track and follow up on sales leads, inquiries, and ongoing customer needs.
- Assist in in-store merchandising , showroom organization, and promotional campaigns.
- Attend product training sessions and stay current on new releases, seasonal products, and manufacturer programs.
- Coordinate with the service department to ensure timely equipment delivery and after-sale support.
- Maintain accurate sales and customer records in the CRM or POS system.
Required Qualifications - 2+ years of sales experience, preferably in power equipment, tools, hardware, or outdoor/lawn & garden products.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with engines, fuel types, and small machinery.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to explain complex equipment features in a customer-friendly way.
- Self-motivated with a goal-oriented mindset and ability to meet or exceed targets.
- Proficiency with basic computer tools (POS systems, CRM, email, Microsoft Office).
- Valid driver's license and willingness to work weekends or extended hours during peak seasons.
Preferred Qualifications - Experience with brands such as Stihl, Husqvarna, Toro, Cub Cadet, John Deere, Honda Power Equipment , or equivalent.
- Background in agriculture, landscaping, hardware, or construction supply sales.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
